ABOUT TAVERNA

Parnas Taverna is an entertainment program combining music, humor, acting, interviews and storytelling. The venue is an "Israeli Invention" - an Israeli Mediterranean Tavern, a cross between a pub, a bar, a cabaret, a nightclub and a Mediterranean tavern while maintaining a strong Israeli character. The music is the primary hinge around which the program revolves and gives exposure to many different musical styles: Israeli Middle Eastern music alongside Israeli Western music, new and modern music alongside nostalgia, pop and rock as well as Ethnic music of many cultures..

Taverna is an evening out with great music and wonderful company..and you never have to leave the comfort of your own home. Featuring the most popular Israeli singers, bands and legendary comedians, Taverna is hosted by Shimon Parnas who in 1999 was voted the Man of the Year in Israeli Television by viewers. Parnas brings with him a legacy of experience and extensive knowledge of Israeli music, Greek music and the music of other Mediterranean countries.
