ABOUT UVDA "FACT"

The first episode of Uvda "Fact" hosted by Ilana Dayan was aired on the first day that Channel 2, the first commercial channel in Israel, began broadcasting. It has been airing for 8 years in prime time and has become one of the most important programs in the history of Israeli television. Ilana Dayan is one of Israel's most respected journalists as well as holding a law degree from Yale University and a position on the faculty of the Tel Aviv University Law School.

Over the years Uvda "Fact" has covered every facet of Israeli society from moving human interest stories, in-depth investigative reports on corruption scandals to probing interviews with Israeli and international newsmakers.

ABOUT THE EPISODE ON DRISHAT SHALOM VOLUME 2:

A few months ago Ilana Dayan spent several weeks with the fighters of the Duvdevan, the secret, elite unit of the IDF that operates undercover in the occupied territories. This unit has become the IDF's most important tool in identifying and capturing wanted terrorists in the West Bank and Gaza. It is the first discussion to be aired with members of the Unit since the terrible incident in Assira Ashimalya where three of the Unit's fighters were killed by friendly fire. An emotionally moving - and disturbing - conversation occurs between Ms. Dayan and the men about the price they pay for serving in the Duvdevan.
